Handel Children’s Choir
The Handel Children’s Choir, has an enrollment of 50 boys and girls, ages 8 to 18. The program emphasizes classical music, multicultural music, contemporary music and folk songs. Special attention is placed on healthy vocal production and training in musicianship. Above all the program is designed both to be substantive and enjoyable for the children.
Each season the Children’s Choir presents winter and spring concerts and performs outreach and special events in the community. Past activities have included singing the National Anthem for an Orioles game, concerts at venues such as Port Discovery, and trips to New York City to see Broadway productions. The children periodically perform with the Handel Choir.
This season we are performing three concerts.
Our Family Holiday Celebration, which features an exciting mix of traditional French and English carols, will be held at First English Lutheran on Sunday, December 14th.
The Concert Choir will sing two Mozart pieces on the Handel Choir of Baltimore’s Spring Concert, A Symphony of Voices, at Towson United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 3rd.
The HCCs Spring Concert, a mixture of French and South African music, will take place on Sunday, May 17th at First English Lutheran.
We are also excited about our outreach concerts this year, details of which will be available in the coming months.
Please keep in mind our optional Martin Luther King Enrichment Day, on Monday, January 19th, and our Cabaret, held on March 14th.
